Apparently Hopsin is not leaving the game after all. Instead, he's releasing a brand new album, Pound Syndrome. The 29-year-old announced his new LP via Instagram just two days after using social media to proclaim he was changing career paths.

Here's the new announcement:

"I'm extremely happy to announce that I have already completed my 2015 album "Pound Syndrome" for youguys! I didn't wanna tell anyone I was working on it because I didn't want ANY pressure at all. The Funk Volume team is about to come strong as fuck! Shout out to @threekingsdr for the artwork! #PoundSyndrome#FV2015"

According to a post on his Facebook page this week, the Los Angeles rapper was set to move to Australia.

"Over the past couple years I have come to conclusion that this profession just isn't for me, so im going to venture out into new areas of life," he wrote. "I will always be an MC at heart, but this rap stuff just isn't for me."

While Hopsin's switcheroo is certainly surprising, it's not the first time he's turned the tables on us. The rapper upset at least one religious news outlet when he turned from Born Again emcee to atheist in a short period of time.

"I feel like God is just telling me what I need to do and he's showing me the light," he told Hard Knock TV in fall 2012.

Compare that to lyrics he wrote this summer, including the following lines from "Ill Mind of Hopsin 7":

"My gut feeling says it's all fake / I hate to say it but f--- it, s--- I'd lost faith / This isn't a small phase, my perspective's all changed."

So, there's that. Make sure you grab that grain of salt the next time Hopsin is making some sort of announcement.
