Several Maroon 5 fans worried after hearing that the rockers were having some "behind-the-scenes" trouble - prompting rumors that Adam Levine was ultimately leaving the band. But according to a rep for the 34-year-old front-man, such "feuding" talk is pure nonsense. Star magazine claims that Levine "has let fame get to his head" and he recently threatened to ditch the band - this gossip is totally FALSE. Meanwhile, Levine's "The Voice" sidekick Black Shelton revealed to "Men's Journal" that he wants his pal to start drinking more - "I want him to be more like me," Shelton amusingly confesses. "Drunk all the time." Read on for more details!

Accoring to an alleged insider for Star magazine:

"The band was set to finish their next record and tour but had to rework everything around Adam's schedule filming The Voice." Levine "promised" to focus more on his work with Maroon 5, but then "The Voice" offered him a HUGE paycheck, so he backed out. Then he told his band-mates that he might try pursuing a solo career... "His Maroon 5 mates were livid to learn that he may be shopping a solo project... The tension is at an all-time high," the shady source explains.

However, a representative for the band insists that such rumors are simply "not true." The Star report is just "full of hot air" - Levine is NOT breaking up Maroon 5.

On a lighter note, check out what country crooner Blake Shelton has to say about his "The Voice" buddy:

"I get frustrated with Adam because, to me, rock stars are supposed to be drunk all the time. But he's very healthy. He takes care of himself. And it drives me crazy, because I want him to be more like me. Drunk all the time."

Apparently, Shelton would LOVE for Levine to trade-in his signature Starbucks cup for a brewski every now-and-then. How many fans can picture Shelton and Levine hanging out together at a bar, throwing back a few beers together?
