Keith Urban used to play New Year's Eve every year, but he has skipped out on the task since marrying actress Nicole Kidman in 2006.

"I've certainly had a few where it's been just us with family, or just Nic and I," Urban told The Vancouver Sun, via CMT. "We've had a couple of those. Actually, probably, I wonder since I've been married I haven't worked on New Year's Eve? I think that's probably right."

The 47-year-old is finally returning to the stage as the ball drops this Dec. 31. The event? ET Canada's New Year's Eve at Niagara Falls, roughly four hours from Times Square and America's biggest NYE spectacle.

Canada will have plenty of star power, though. Nick Jonas, Lights and Shawn Mendes round out the bill.

"We love 'Jealous,' the new Nick Jonas single," Urban said. "Like, totally love that song. I think my wife turned me onto that one recently. Shawn Mendes, I don't know. So that'll be a first for me."

Urban, a guitar aficianado, has played with hundreds of talented artists in the past, but he singled out a show with The Rolling Stones in 2013 as one of his favorite memories.

"The great thing was getting to rehearsals in the afternoon when we were playing at the Staples Center, and there's all the boys up there running through all the songs for the show," he said. "Their ferocity, particularly Mick [Jagger]'s, it's really matchless. He's one of the great, great frontmen of all time, and to be inches away from him singing on the same mike, was a really surreal experience."

The country star is currently serving as a judge on Fox's American Idol. This is his third year on the show, and he said prior experience has helped him get comfortable on the set.

"It's much easier to get that groove on and have it be consistent," he said. "I really love working with Harry [Connick Jr.] and Jen [Lopez] at the desk. We come at it from different places and yet there's really good synergy."
