Just last month, Eminem was spotted in his Detroit studio with members of the infamous West Coast hip-hop crew Black Hippy - prompting rumors of a huge surprise collaboration on Slim Shady's highly-anticipated 2013 album. But according to rappers Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q, Black Hippy wasn't there "looking for a verse" on one of Em's new songs... they just wanted to chill. Meanwhile, details surrounding Shady's eighth studio record STILL remain a total mystery... although several fans are crossing their fingers for a fall release date.

As Mstars previously reported:

On June 6, Eminem posted (on his rarely updated) Facebook page:

Eminem: "Before his show in The D, Kendrick Lamar stopped by to hang out.

Lamar also posted the same photo with:

Kendrick Lamar: "Yesterday in Detroit... K. Dot x Em."

Considering Shady's set to release a new album sometime this year... perhaps the Cali emcee and his Black Hippy bandmates showed-up to record a surprise collaboration? Wishful thinking:

"It was unexpected, I just went to Detroit and I had a show out there and I got a call saying, 'Em [wants you] to come to the studio, come to the studio fast... That was me actually just meeting and greeting. I bumped heads with Eminem [in the past], but it was very brief, that was my first time really chopping it up with him, getting to ask all the questions I wanted to ask him."

So Lamar might not appear on Shady's new record, but it seems that the two rappers get along very well. Em even offered the West Coast rapper some advice:

"He gave me straightforward answers and really just gave me the game on how to stay creative as possible... He basically told me albums haven't been done like that in a long time from a new artist, and he can appreciate how I structured the whole thing."

Shady's wisest words of wisdom:

"Always stay focused on the craft and not indulge in the other crazy stuff that comes around."

And Schoolboy Q also recently confirmed with MTV News that Black Hippy's in-studio meet-up with Eminem was a casual hangout and not buisness-oriented:

"We weren't trying to go in there all, 'Oh let me get a verse.' We hate when people do that to us, so we actually wanted to go in there and be cool and feel him out and see what was going on before anybody asked for a verse," Q explained. "We just sat there, we chilled, we talked. We expressed what we liked about each other's music, we talked about Slaughterhouse, we talked about his artists, we talked about us individually. He's just a good dude, just chillin'."

While Lamar enjoyed chatting with Shady, Q kept things very low-key:

"I sat in there and I didn't say nothing. I soaked up game, I didn't want to say too much... I can't go in there running my mouth trying to act like I know everything, that's a dude that done been from nothing to something. I sat there and I just soaked up game. I didn't really say too much, I was just listening really."

So, does that mean no Eminem/Black Hippy collaboration? Well, not yet...

"I'm pretty sure one of the homeys gonna ask for a verse though," Q laughingly says about the future.
