It may quickly be turning to winter, but LA girl Miley Cyrus still has that "Summertime Sadness." This morning (Nov. 12), the "We Can't Stop" singer performed a cover of the Lana Del Rey song on the BBC Radio 1 Lounge, along with an acoustic version of her latest Bangerz single "Wrecking Ball."

Luckily for fans outside the UK, Cyrus is ever the gracious pop star and posted the songs on SoundCloud this morning and tweeted links out to her 15.4 million followers.

Featuring no instrumentation but an acoustic guitar and the occasional sprinkled in keyboard, Cyrus fits perfectly well into the Lana Del Rey oeuvre. Her smoky voice has a different, twangier timbre than Del Rey, but it still plays surprisingly well with the somber love song. Cyrus even reaches into the high notes of the song's post-chorus better than Del Rey, proving that underneath all the joints and latex bikinis, Cyrus really does have a strong pop voice.

It's no surprise that Cyrus covered "Summertime Sadness" in the UK. The singer established she was a Lana Del Rey fan earlier this week with a pre-shower Instagram selfie, which she titled with "I got that shower time showerrrrr time selfie (A la Lana Del Rey)."

Of course, the cover wasn't the only track Cyrus performed at the BBC today. She also gave a nice, acoustic rendition of her No. 1 hit "Wrecking Ball." Her voice wasn't as strong here as in, say, her EMAs performance, but the piano added a pretty new touch to the track.
