Glen Campbell's last song of his career, "I'm Not Gonna Miss You," is a bittersweet ballad. It unfortunately caps off his illustrious career that came to a sudden stop when the artist was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The tune is, however, a gorgeous song and one that captures the brilliance of the talented artist. The Recording Academy agrees - "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" has been nominated for two Grammy awards.

As Taste of Country notes, Campbell received two nods for the song - one for Best Country Song and one for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The tune was penned for the documentary Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, which chronicles the musician's career during his Goodbye Tour that was prompted by his Alzheimer's. The Band Perry, which reworked Campbell's "Gentle on My Mind" for the doc's soundtrack, is also up for a Grammy in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category.

"We were ecstatic that the Recording Academy honored Glen with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 while he was still able to comprehend the love and appreciation of his peers. And now for them to honor him again with a nomination for a song he recorded while descending into the later stages of Alzheimer's, there just aren't enough words to express how blessed we feel," the musician's wife, Kim, said in a statement.

Campbell entered an Alzheimer's care facility in April as his disease continued to worsen.

"This song tells the truth of what it's like to lose your memory and yet be at peace with it. We are very proud of Glen and grateful for God's grace," Kim added. "We thank the Recording Academy for their love and for bringing attention to the plight of those who live with Alzheimer's by recognizing this song."

Previously, Campbell won awards for Best Country Song in 1967 and 1968.
