Synthpop band Passion Pit have confirmed that they are currently at work on a new studio album, which would be their third overall, and first since 2012's Gossamer. This news came via the band's Facebook page, with a photo of frontman Michael Angelakos sitting in front of a tracking chart in the studio (which you can see up above). Though most of the song titles are blacked out like some sort of declassified CIA report, two titles — "Intro" and "Five Foot Ten" — are still visible, as well as slots reserved for "Covers (TBD)" and "B-Sides (acoustic versions)."

Although no title or release date have yet been revealed, this new album is likely to drop at some point in 2015, as the business of the tracking chart suggests that the band is well on its way towards completion.

"I'm very lucky to work with people that respect my space and know that I need time to compress and make sure that will all the other projects going on, Passion Pit stays Passion Pit," Angelakos told The Santa Barbara Independent about his recording process. "It's very much a singular vision, and that takes a lot of concentration and a specific headspace. I have to be careful about when I execute it and how I execute it."

In addition to this announcement, Angelakos has also shared a solo demo recording of a cover of Barry Manilow's "Somewhere Down The Road," complete with screechy chipmunk vocals, which you can check out below:

Though no 2015 tour dates have yet been announced, Passion Pit will be performing at two festivals in March 2015: The BUKU Music + Art Project in New Orleans on March 13 and 14, and the McDowell Mountain Music Festival in Phoenix on March 27, 28, and 29.
