Brad Pitt is not a singer by trade, but the actor has gotten plenty of chances to show off his voice in the past. Scenes in Happy Feet Two, Never Girl and Johnny Suede come to mind, and he's even managed a yodel-off with Jimmy Fallon and a duet about male genitalia with Edward Norton. So its no surprise that Pitt showed off his pipes in front of a large audience on Saturday night (Billboard). While introducing Selma actor David Oyelowo at a film festival gala in Palm Springs, California, Pitt decided he would teach the audience how to pronounce the British actor's name.

First, he led the crowd in a sing-along that mirrored "Olé, Olé, Olé," and then sang his own version of Coldplay's "Yellow."

Check it out:

If you skipped the video, Oyelowo's name is pronounced "Oh-yella-woe," and you can catch him in the new Martin Luther King, Jr., biopic that Pitt produced.

Ready for a strange story? Good.

Oyelowo has consistently claimed that God told him he would one day play MLK in a film adaptation of the civil rights leader's life. This conversation with a higher power occurred in 2007, well before the Oxford-born actor had landed any notable parts.

"The reason I'm talking about that is because I'm as shocked as anyone else may be that this British guy is playing Martin Luther King," he said (via HuffPost). "Certainly back then, in 2007, I had done none of the movies people have now seen me do now."

His current film resume includes Interstellar, Lincoln and Lee Daniels' The Butler.

Selma hits theaters on Jan. 9, and you can check out a trailer for the film below:
