The new video surfaced today and subtly features ILOVEMAKONNEN’s “Tuesday” beat, with Lil Wayne freestyling over it. The song is unreleased at this time and Lil Wayne’s teaser video was the first preview fans have heard as of late.
The clip features Lil Wayne showing off his feature in the latest issue of the infamous skateboarding magazine, Thrasher.
Hearing Lil Wayne freestyle over ILOVEMAKONNEN’s Grammy nominated track for his forthcoming mixtape, to be titled Sorry 4 The Wait 2, has fans excited for the future release.
Last month, it was announced that Lil Wayne will be dropping his new mixtape prior to releasing his highly anticipated album Tha Carter V.
As seen on Instagram, Lil Wayne has been in the studio lately with a handful of different producers and rappers working on new music, including a late night photo suggesting that Lil Wayne went straight from a nightclub in Miami to the studio to put work in and record with Atlanta-based trio Migos.
It was reported that the mixtape will be released as an apology for making fans wait for the release of the album, which has had a delayed release date due to there still being a need to work out the differences between the two sides of the label, and thus the title of the mixtape is perfectly coined. It was promised that the album will be released in the first quarter of the year.
While this new 15 second teaser is simply that — a tease — it is still enough of a promising sign that good things are on their way! It wouldn’t be surprising if fans saw more teasers prior to the actual mixtape and album being released. At least it’s better than nothing!
