Tickets for Arcade Fire's Reflektor Tour don't even go on sale to the general public until tomorrow (Nov. 22), and the concert trek is already causing controversy. After pre-sale tickets revealed that fans would be required to "please wear formal attire or costume," fans who weren't feeling rocking a tuxedo or paper mache mask to listen to "Afterlife" live were not happy. Now, Arcade Fire has told fans to "relax..." the dress requirement is just for a bit of fun.

On their official Facebook page, Arcade Fire made the following announcement on Nov. 20: "To everyone really upset about us asking people to dress up at our shows... please relax. It's super not mandatory. It just makes for a more fun carnival when we are all in it together. So far these have been the best shows we have ever played. See you soon. Love, Arcade Fire"

It's hard to argue with such kind language as that, but this isn't the first time Arcade Fire has spoken out about the dress code for their Reflektor shows. After a show in London, frontman Win Butler told the crowd he was "not sorry" if they felt uncomfortable dressing up, as doing so would help them get laid.

Arcade Fire's Reflektor shows have thus far been marked with bizarre costumes and formal dress, as seen in their post-SNL special Here Comes The Night Time. The Reflektor Tour will obviously be in support of the band's fourth studio album of the same name, which premiered in October.

The shows will kick off on Mar. 6, 2014, in Louisville, Ken. Tickets officially go on sale Friday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m.
