Idina Menzel and John Legend have been announced as performers for the Super Bowl XLIX pregame festivities at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Feb. 1, Billboard reports. Menzel will be singing The National Anthem while Legend will sing "America The Beautiful."

As previously reported, Katy Perry is taking on the half-time show and recently announced that she was adding Lenny Kravitz to the lineup.

"My first special guest is going to be an incredible rock & roll icon, a guitar god," Perry told NBC's Willie Geist in an interview. "He's got so much style. He's the coolest. He's the king of cool. He's going to make me so much cooler that day."

With Perry stressing "first" in her announcement, it's likely that we'll be hearing of more additions in the near future.

Perry also recently clarified that she didn't pay for her performance spot during the big game despite reports that the NFL was asking artists to pay a portion of their post-game earnings in exchange for the exposure they would get.

"I put my foot down very early in the courtship," she told The Associated Press. "I said, 'Look guys, here's where I draw a line in the sand.' I want to be invited on my own merits and not with some fine print. I don't even care if my contract leaks. I have nothing to hide, basically."

Perry went on to say that her performance would last 12 minutes and would be divided into two different "worlds." The pop star also believes she's the perfect person for the gig.

"I'm all about female empowerment and uplifting people's spirits, and people finding their own voice with songs like 'Roar' and 'Firework,' so maybe there is no better person [for the show]," she said. "Hopefully I can bring that incredible strength and empowerment to people through the performance."
