The world is still looking for answers in the death of A$AP Yams, one of the founders of the A$AP Mob who passed away at the age of 26 over the weekend. Many, including Music Times, wondered out loud if the death was tied to his admitted problems with Xanax and codeine. A$AP Ant, a member of the hip-hop collective, actively denied this allegation in an interview with Vlad.tv yesterday.

"I just want to clear it up for real, for real. It ain't no overdose," he said when asked about the cause of death. "People stop saying overdose, cuz that's not what it is. People keep talking about he overdosed off Xanax or whatever and lean...no. That's not what happened."

Despite those words, Ant couldn't offer an actual cause of death so the world will need to wait for a coroner's report. The rash of overdose suggestions come in light of the final tweet that Yams sent prior to his death: "BODEINE BRAZY," a stylized way of saying "codeine crazy."

Yams may not have not have gathered as much spotlight as the mob's star players A$AP Rocky or A$AP Ferg but those in-in-the-know were aware of his influence. He was one of three Harlem residents (along with A$AP Illz and A$AP Bari) who founded the now huge hip-hop collective during 2007. Rocky, the performer who kickstarted the group into international prominence, joined during 2008.

The hip-hop community collectively paid tribute to the "spiritual manager" of the A$AP Mob via social media on Sunday. Perhaps no one better summed up his influence than 2 Chainz

"Luv and condolences for YAMS!!!" he tweeted. "Always felt when he was in the room."

Stay tuned for more updates. Check out the tribute posted by A$AP Ferg on Instagram here
