Beck has gotten more than enough Grammy buzz for his touching 2014 album (and Sea Change "sequel") Morning Phase, but it's seeming as though the "Waking Light" singer is already looking to release his next record before this summer. That is, if his festival performance bio for Øyafestivalen is to be believed.

Beck's biography on the Norwegian festival website announced that he "is currently working on a new album which will be out before the summer," as Stereogum points out. That's quite a quick turnaround for Beck - the time between his 11th album Modern Guilt and Morning Phase was over six years.

Though there is no official information out about Beck's planned 13th studio album, it does seem as though it's going to take on wholly different vibes.

During promotion for Morning Phase in early 2014, Beck was quick to point out that he wanted to inject more energy back into his live show. In his profile in Billboard magazine, Beck admitted that he was working on his new album with big names in the pop world, including Pharrell Williams. At that point in time, he was hoping to release the album before year's end, indicating that his 13th record was always going to have a rushed release schedule.

In an interview with Clash Music, Beck also expressed an interest in returning to his more energetic side, perhaps marking a return to his Midnite Vultures era.

"I do want to put out something that is a lot more up, and energetic, and melodic," he said.

There's no confirmation of a new Beck album in 2015, especially before the summer. So fans of the folky hip-hop singer should keep an eye out for some new music.
