Erica Mena is a major reason why people tune in to watch Love & Hip Hop on VH1. She is a walking combo platter of tough-talking chick and somewhat broken little girl all in one, and watching Mena in action on LHH never gets old. The current season is showing her split from Cyn Santana, but in reality it is a relationship that ended a while ago and she has not only moved on but is planning a wedding to and babies with Bow Wow that is scheduled for this coming April. When the couple got together, things seemed to move really fast, but in a recent interview Mena is reminding fans that real time and edited reality TV are not one and the same.

She spoke openly with Rolling Out about how she and Bow Wow first connected while they were with other people and things just progressed from there.

"When that whole 106 & Park kiss happened, we were both seeing other people and that kiss put us in the doghouse. So we were kind of confiding in each other. I realized that he is a man who really knows me and I've never had someone to fully accept me for who I am, flaws and all. I think it just happened naturally with us. We were at that point of really wanting to settle down, but the people that we were with at the time just weren't fitting us. So it just happened and I discovered that this was the person that I was really supposed to be with," explained Mena.

Hasn't she always claimed that the people whom she dates have made her a better person? So is Bow Wow really that different from Santana or Rich Dollaz? Apparently Mena thinks so because she is seriously thinking about her marriage to Bow Wow and what being his wife will mean.

"I want to be that wife that my husband can really rely on for everything. I don't want it to ever get to a point where my husband can't be honest with me, or that he isn't sexually into me. As a mom, I want to be that mother that steers her children to be whatever they want to be, but also lets them know that the world will never give them anything. So when they grow up, they can come back and say, 'Mom, you were right,'" said Mena.

While she has often dished on how her lovers have made her a better person, Mena has never really mentioned having a family with anyone else. That is definitely a different direction for her. Of course, anything the reality star says or does gets attention and some level of backlash, so of course there a lot of fans out there expecting this relationship to crash and burn just like every other one that we have seen her in.
