At this point, we should begin writing headlines when Noel Gallagher declares he does not despise someone. The former Oasis frontman has been full of venom this month, tearing down U2 and James Blunt before turning his attention to Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner Tuesday, Feb. 3.

"There doesn't seem to be any characters anymore," Gallagher said, via NME. "When you have proper characters, the music sort of becomes secondary -- it looks after itself. Look at bands like The Smiths and The Jam -- all great characters."

Apparently, Turner is not a great character.

"I would rather drink petrol straight from the nozzle at a garage than listen to an interview with Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys," Gallagher said. "Wouldn't you? Alternative thinking is on its way out. They just don't make for great copy. Is it any coincidence that all the indie labels got bought up by the major labels and things have started to get boring?"

It is true: For all the zany lyrics and crazy guitar parts Turner churns out like clockwork, he is equally as boring when it comes to the media.

The attack by Gallagher follows beef with Blunt last week, when Gallagher said, "If I wrote songs about my own life, they would be more boring than James Blunt. If that's at all possible, which we all know, of course, it's not."

Ever the good-natured gentleman, Blunt had a comical response:

Turner will likely not be as nice about this verbal abuse, if he even acknowledges it at all. Until someone puts a stop to Gallagher's mouth, half of England is going to have some serious self-esteem issues.
