Spoon is not done with the road. Led by Britt Daniel, the band is charging ahead after finishing a lengthy tour engagement to wrap up 2014. The Texas group is still touring behind their 2014 album, They Want My Soul, which we gave generally positive reviews in our Junk Mail feature last summer.
"I felt this was an extremely well crafted album with beautiful production and thoughtful writing," Caitlin Carter wrote. "Nothing out of the ordinary for Spoon, but definitely a logical progression of their sound."
Meanwhile, Carolyn Menyes wasn't too confident about the LP's staying power.
"Where's the spice to this album?" she asked. "The twists? The turns? I also sort of question whether or not this album will really stay in my rotation."
The album was favorable reviewed across the country, receiving a score of 81 on Metacritic.
