Beck, along with most people watching the 2015 Grammys, thought Beyoncé should have won Album of the Year for her self-titled release. Kanye West took the questionable route of jumping onstage during Beck's acceptance, but the Morning Phase singer was perfectly fine with it. West continued to be critical of the choice and Beck after the show, but the alternative singer-songwriter told E! that he understands the rapper's frustrations. He even paid West a few compliments.

"I was excited he was coming up," he said about West's stage crashing. "He deserves to be on that stage."

Beck "absolutely" thought Bey was going to win the category. Instead, it was the "Loser" singer who took the award from Prince and smiled at the whole audience. And best of all, Beck had no cross words for Yeezy's attempt to steal his moment. He offered compliments to the rapper.

"You can't please everybody. I still love him and think he's genius," he said to People after the show. "I aspire to what he does. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"

West went on a typical Kanye rant following the ceremony, calling out the Grammys and even Beck for accepting the award.

"Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé, and at this point, we tired of it," Yeezy said. "Because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you're disrespectful to inspiration and we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place."

Thankfully, Yeezy had no problem with Beck's Best Rock Album win over U2, The Black Keys, Ryan Adams and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
