We heard awhile ago that 80-year-old Charles Manson was actually engaged to a woman named Afton Burton, a 27-year-old that the convicted murder had renamed Star. She had reportedly moved halfway across the country to be closer to Manson and had told the press that the two of them were engaged. Burton even filed for a marriage license last November but the odd couple never swapped those vows before the license expired. We're hearing that Burton wanted a big payday more than anything else and Manson caught on.

According to a report by The New York Post, "Manson's fiancée, 27-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, known as Star, sought to wed the convicted mastermind of the Sharon Tate murder and eight other slayings so that she could gain possession of his corpse, according to journalist Daniel Simone.

Burton and a pal, Craig Hammond, planned to lay out Manson's remains in a glass crypt, Simone says. The pair figured their bizarre California version of Lenin's Tomb would draw huge crowds and make big money."

Manson has now decided that the wedding is off and as far as Burton thinking she could profit off of his eventual death, he thought that theory was insane. Manson believes that he is immortal and will never die so obviously Burton was setting herself up to fail. According to Burton the marriage license will be renewed and she will eventually marry the killer.

Perhaps the best question here is which one is crazier. Manson for believing that he will never die or Burton for thinking that even after her scheme was revealed, he will still marry her! Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
