Shirley Manson may be angry at Kanye West after he stormed the stage during Beck's Album of the Year acceptance speech at the 2015 Grammys, but one music star is coming to 'Ye's defense, his good friend John Legend. In a new interview, the "All of Me" singer revealed that he though West's stunt at the Grammys was funny, and anyone else who thinks differently needs to lighten up.

"I thought it was funny," Legend told US Weekly. "I looked at it as just a funny thing that people were going to talk about. It didn't hurt anybody. Anybody who's upset just needs to relax. It was funny."

Though Legend thought that West's onstage stunt was nothing more than a joke, he didn't necessarily agree with the "Only One" rapper that Beyoncé was robbed of the award or that Beck doesn't respect "artistry."

"Beck won his award fair and square," Legend said. "Beck is super talented and I have several of his albums and I've listened to him for a long time. I think people were surprised that he won but that doesn't mean he's not deserving, that just means people thought other people were going to win too."

That doesn't mean that Legend wasn't surprised at the win. After Beck's Morning Phase was deemed the Album of the Year, the singer took a snapshot with West's wife Kim Kardashian and his wife Chrissy Teigen in total shock.

And, for his part, Beck is being humble about the experience, calling West a "genius" and admitting he though Beyoncé shoo-in for the Grammy, too.
