Imagine Dragons and surrealist artist Tim Cantor have a special relationship, with the California painter designing all of the band's artwork for its new album Smoke + Mirrors. Now, less than a week ahead of the album's release date, Imagine Dragons are paying Cantor back by bringing his paintings to life in the new music video for "Shots."

The video brings Cantor's artwork to life, featuring suspended trees in a dying field, old-timey women and outfits, rogue birds flying out of skulls and slithering snakes that climb up your body.

There are also loose clock pieces as the drummer is suspended in time, boney animals, men with multiple arms and Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds singing in a lush garden and in front of burning houses.

Like Cantor's artwork itseld, the music video is filled with rich colors and surrealist imagery. Though the idea of paintings inspiring a music video could sound a little bougie, Imagine Dragons pull it off seamlessly, giving the visual a dream-like feeling that's incredibly creative and beautiful.

The music video for "Shots" is not the first time Imagine Dragons and Cantor collaborated. Cantor also designed the single and album artwork for each of the new Imagine Dragons tracks.

"Shots" is the latest single from Imagine Dragons' new album Smoke + Mirrors and follows the release of "I Bet My Life." The new album, the follow-up to the band's explosively successful Night Visions is due to be released on Feb. 17.
