The Vans Warped Tour has long been known as a safe haven for punk rock fans, but those who have paid close enough attention over the years also know that the nationwide event also brings along plenty of pop and hip-hop stars for the ride.

Rap alums include Eminem (throwback alert), The Black Eyed Peas and Wiz Khalifa, but some Warped fans are apparently oblivious to the event's history.

As noted by CityPages, a group of punks recently started a Change.org petition decrying the involvement of hip-hop, namely rappers Riff Raff's and Kosha Dillz' appearances in the lineup.

Vans Warped Tour has been a place created for outcast kids to go see their favorite bands play, it is a place for kids who have been teased for liking those bands who are up on those stages. Having Riff Raff and Kosher Dillz on the line up would be inviting those people who put down rock music and the people who listen to it, many people are upset that they are on the line up and have sold, or returned their tickets.

This declaration is unlikely to change much, and the Warped Tour will likely laugh this off instead of responding to it. Many fans have understood that hip-hop has been part of the deal for several years.

This year's lineup features plenty of other options; Asking Alexandria, Metro Station and Fit For a King among them.

But if you really feel like Riff Raff and Kosha Dillz are going to ruin your punk party this summer, feel free join the other 283 people who have decided to take a stand.

Just don't expect Warped to join in; they just posted a tweet promoting a third hip-hop artist -- Mod Sun -- at this year's traveling festival.
