Have you noticed that we seem to be seeing a whole lot less of Kate Middleton during her second pregnancy? When she was carrying Prince George two years ago, it seemed like the duchess was always out and about, but this time around Middleton's appearances are further apart and a bit rare. Every pregnancy is different, and from the sound of it this one has been pretty tough on Prince William's wife, with several sources reporting that she was recently rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe abdominal pain.

It was ultimately determined that Middleton was suffering from severe Braxton Hicks contractions and that her baby, rumored to be a girl, is just fine, according to She Knows. Still, any parent who has gone through a scare in those final weeks will tell you just how unnerving it really is. The young royals also seem to have a new press secretary in place who fully intends to protect them as much as possible.

In fact, part of the reason why we are hearing less about this pregnancy might be because there is a bit of a news blackout in place when it comes to Middleton.

Her privacy seems to be closely guarded this time, and the press has not had much of a chance to have a field day with her, aside from commenting on her gray roots. If anything, Middleton having less than perfect hair only endears her to the commoners because it backs up the notion that, aside from having to do royal appearances, she and William really are just normal people.

An exhausted, pregnant woman who is chasing after an active toddler is not usually stressing over her roots.

While it would be cool to see Middleton out and photographed daily, do you think she is wise to be sticking closer to home this time around? Does a news blackout explain why the British press seems quite willing to leave her alone right now? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
