Now that the dust has settled from Tom Delonge's leaving/firing from Blink-182, the trio can start to look for closure in outside projects. Or at least the guitarist has announced a solo album as of this weekend (according to the performer's personal website).

The details are relatively scarce on To The Stars but it seems that it will be a mixture of old and new material, all previously unreleased. The album will drop on April 21, consisting of songs that Delonge had apparently been saving for a rainy day (or, as Alternative Press suggests, just repurposed Blink demos), as well as a few newly recorded tracks. Those who preorder the solo LP on March 9 will get an instant download of the first track from the album, and additional tracks will become available for early download on March 23 and April 6 respectively.

It doesn't look like Delonge just threw this together at the last moment, based on the variety of packages available. The album will be available on both CD and vinyl, and the guitarist's website is even offering autographed lithographs of the album's artwork.

As for the rest of Blink-182, Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus haven't been overly excitable about naming new projects in the works. Barker had previously suggested that he would be performing on a joint album with rapper Hopsin, and the emcee will reportedly drop his album Pound Syndrome this year, but no word on whether the two projects are related. Hoppus also moonlights as a producer however there doesn't seem to be anything on the calendar at this point.

What we all fear will happen, of course, is that Barker and Hoppus will opt not to fold Blink-182 as an act following the spate of tour dates with Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba filling in on guitar. All we can do is hope and pray that the remaining pair of original members will allow Blink to die somewhat gracefully.
