It was nine years ago when we watched T.I. and Lauren London as Rashad and New New, develop a teen romance in ATL in 2006, along with a lot of rollerskating and drama. Now the ATL crew is back at it. The sequel was confirmed on T.I.'s Instagram account yesterday, March 4.

T.I. posted a photo with a familiar crew and setting featuring the rapper himself, Jackie Long as Esquire, Albert Daniels as Brooklyn, Jason Weaver as Teddy and film director Chris Robinson with his back turned to the camera.

The photo was accompanied by the caption "#ATL2 Get Ready."

T.I. later posted a picture with London saying, "Shad&New-New #ATL2 #Keepwatching."

Evan Ross, Tasha Smith and Big Boi are among the other stars featured in the film.

ATL was a coming-of-age film that led audiences into the lives of these Atlanta teenage stories with different struggles as they came into their own. The rollerskating rink Cascade was the focal point of where a lot of the drama, romance and growth took place.

According to BET, ATL was "loosely based on the lives and experiences of the film's producers Dallas Austin and TLC member Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, growing up in Atlanta." Additionally, BET reported that the film "debuted at No. 3 at the box office in 2006, grossing $11.5 million in its opening weekend."

On Robinson's Instagram, he built the excitement for the sequel by posting the same picture as T.I.'s with the caption:

"#ATL WAS A CLASSIC #ATL2 WILL BE LEGENDARY!!! "AND SO IT BEGINS" THE CREW @troubleman31 (T.I) @jackielong (Long) @albeback (Daniels) @itsjasonweaver (Weaver) #RITF#BONG"

Billboard confirmed that no further details of the film have been released. ATL supporters have already taken to Instagram and other social media sites to express their excitement.

T.I. fans will not have to wait too long to see the Southern rapper on the big screens. Fans will see T.I. in Get Hard with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, set to hit theaters March 27.
