Sexual misconduct in 2017: The damning statistics

Well there's no arguing that winter is in full gear, even though some areas of the country don't experience the "wonderland" aspect of it. Snowstorms have come and gone in certain regions already, and more will inevitably make their way across the northern states.

On a Saturday night, when people aren't thinking about clearing their cars out for a morning commute or shoveling sidewalks and driveways, it might be best to stay in, have a cup of hot chocolate (or a hot toddy if you really want to party) and celebrate winter. Or if you're in the sunny, warmer southern regions, you can just pretend. It's not unheard of for people in Los Angeles to wear scarves when it's 60 degrees anyway. It also helps the mood if the Christmas tree and lights are still up.

For this week's party playlist, we've put together a collection of songs with a winter and snowy weather theme. Sure, some of them have a somber tone. What do you expect? But they are great tracks and truly hold up year-round.

Bundle up and listen to our snow day party playlist:

01. Fleet Foxes "White Winter Hymnal"

02. Twin Shadow "Castles In The Snow"

03. Neil Young "Winterlong"

04. The Walkmen "While I Shovel The Snow"

05. Simon & Garfunkel "A Hazy Shade Of Winter"

06. The White Stripes "In The Cold, Cold Night"

07. Jens Lekman "The Cold Swedish Winter"

08. Broken Social Scene "Snowballs and Icicles"

09. T. Rex "The Throat Of Winter"

10. Sufjan Stevens "Majesty Snowbird"
