One Direction don't have to wait until 12:00 tonight to make some "Midnight Memories." The boy band already have something huge to celebrate: its third studio album Midnight Memories was the top-selling album of the year in the UK.

According to Official Charts Company, the boy band's set sold over 700,000 copies in their home country this year, surpassing releases from some of the year's biggest releases from the likes of Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry.

What's most impressive about the sales success of Midnight Memories is that the set dropped a mere five weeks ago, on Nov. 25, giving it only a small time frame to beat out every other 2013 album.

The number should come as no real surprise. Upon its release last month, Midnight Memories sold an astounding 237,000 copies in its first week in the UK, becoming the year's fastest-selling album.

"We're so excited to have the biggest selling album in the UK this year, especially with a record we are all so proud of. We'd like to thank everyone who has bought the album; it really means a lot to us," 1D member Liam Payne told Official Charts Company in a statement.

One Direction beat out Emeli Sandé for the top-selling album of the year. Her record Our Version of Events, which claimed the No. 1 sales numbers for 2012, came in second place. That record sold 683,000 copies this year.
