Someone claiming to be a member of the hacktivist group Anonymous has released a chilling, seven-minute message to Kanye West. The person, whose face is covered in a Guy Fawkes mask, which has become the symbol of the group, delivers the message in the typical atonal voice used by the group with a well-produced video piecing together clips from Kanye's recent interviews and his music playing in the background.

The video starts out by deriding West for his egotistical outbursts in interviews, using the Grammys as a prime example, and then gets personal. The man asks if Kanye thinks his mother would be proud and then if his wife, with her recent "Break the Internet" stunt and subsequent nude photos, are setting a good example for their daughter North West, who will have to live with the consequences of their actions for the rest of her life.

Beyond Kim and Kanye's occasional outbursts, this man believes it is Kanye's comparison to the great Renaissance men who had a massive impact on the way we think -- like Nicholaus Copernicus, Leonardo da Vinci, John Calvin, Niccolò Machiavelli, Geoffrey Chaucer and others -- that he is the greatest since.

"It's time to awaken from your insanity, Mr. West. In reality, you're not a renaissance man, you're just a new slave that the industry uses to keep the population in a cycle of stupidity and distraction," said the masked man.

"Fashion is not a worthy pursuit compared to what those great renaissance leaders were doing. Fashion shows are not going to make the world a better place. Your priorities are warped by the Hollywood celebrities that you are surrounded by," he said.

There is plenty to unpack from this video and one can agree or disagree with the sentiments expressed in this video. They are right that Kanye has a large ego and Kim does love attention.

Those things could be diminished a little, sure, but those are not that big a deal. Anonymous is currently battling impactful state and non-state actors like North Korea and ISIS, which seem like worthy campaigns to us.

We encourage the organization to go after those killing others for expressing their freedoms just like the oppressive governments suppressed and locked away Galileo instead of targeting a bigheaded and incredibly talented musician.
