Fox's new series Empire is already a bonafide television hit. What makes it even more engaging are the guest appearances. So far we've seen Courtney Love, Jennifer Hudson, Raven Simon, and Estelle with more appearances to come on the season finale. Now it has been reported that none other than Oprah Winfrey will be joining the show, along with Golden Globe- and Academy Award-winning rapper Common.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Empire creator Lee Daniels revealed that he is writing roles for both Winfrey and Common.

"Yes. Yeah. She's gonna be on it," he said of Winfrey, who previously starred in his film The Butler.

He confirmed Common's role saying, "Oh yeah, for sure. For absolutely sure. We're gonna have a good time," adding, "You hear that first."

Access Hollywood previously spoke with Common about his interest in joining the show if a role was offered to him.

"I see Lee at the gym and they shoot Empire in my hometown of Chicago," he told them. "I would be a part of it if it was something that was the right character. I'm all about being a part of really quality things."

Music Times reviewed the show's original soundtrack earlier this week. Check out what we thought of the show's music here.

Empire has seen remarkable success this year with the series growing week after week in ratings for nine straight weeks. This week's episode alone drew in 14.7 million viewers.

With only episode left, don't forget to tune in next Wednesday night and catch up on old episodes if you haven't already. The Season 1 finale airs March 18 at 8 p.m. EST and will feature guest appearances from Hudson, Rita Ora, Patti LaBelle, Snoop Dogg.
