The Black Keys member Dan Auerbach recently divorced his wife Stephanie Gonis, and in August, TMZ reported that part of the settlement, beyond the $5 million, a car, and a house, Gonis was walking away with Bob Dylan's hair.

TMZ said, "It's unclear how the hair was obtained... when it was obtained ... if the hair contains any product... etc. But the point is, Dan agreed to part ways with it in the divorce."

But now TMZ has clarified that Auerbach and Gonis were never actually in possession of the folk legends follicles. It would have been an odd thing to own anyway, really. What was called "Bob Dylan's Hair" was actually just a psychedelic poster that the couple referred to as that.

With a sense of humor about the whole mix up, Auerbach told TMZ that "if he ever decides he wants an authentic lock from Bob, he now has a pipeline into the singer to get one, thanks to a generous Dylan family member. "

It looks like that is officially cleared up. Gonis, who has a daughter with Auerback, walks away with millions of dollars and a pretty cool poster.

The Black Keys do have a connection with Dylan's music and they displayed that with a cover of "Wicked Messenger" on the soundtrack for the film Im Not There in 2007. Take a look at the picture of the poster (above) that TMZ revealed was the real "Bob Dylan's Hair" and listen to The Black Keys' version of "Wicked Messenger" below.
