Dame Dash and Jay Z helped build Roc-A-Fella Records into a massive success starting in the late 1990s. The two had a falling out after Jay Z unseated Dash and fellow partner Kareem Burke after he accepted the CEO position at Def Jam Recordings, which bought Roc-A-Fella. Now, after the two have not spoken in years, Dash is done talking about Jay Z, as he mentioned on Power 105's The Breakfast Club Friday, March 13.

"You really still curious about this Jay Z thing? Lemme ask you a question. Have you never asked me this question before? Don't you think everybody knows that answer. If someone asked you the same question 25 times, maybe 2,500 times, do you wanna talk about the same thing? That's just human. I'm sick of talking about it. I wanna talk about something else," he said. "No more Jay Z questions, I answered them."

Interestingly enough, Jay Z is following in the footsteps of Dash in getting involved in an industry outside music. In 2005, Dash dipped his foot into professional boxing promoting, joining forces with New York-based promoter Lou DiBella. Among those promoted by Dash during that time was Andre Berto, whom Dash sparred with in southern California last year and who won a fight televised on Spike TV Friday night over Josesito Lopez. The venture did not last long, despite hope that Dash could blend hip-hop with the sweet science.

A decade later, Jay Z has announced that he would be promoting boxing under the RocNation Sports banner. In the time since, he has signed top-flight boxers Andre Ward and Miguel Cotto, though the lone show that has been promoted under that banner did not fare so well and they have already experienced turmoil in a short period of time.
