The almost-always controversial Miley Cyrus released a trailer for her upcoming Bangerz Tour DVD, which is out March 23.
Cyrus's antics over the past few years have raised a lot of eyebrows, especially her Bangerz tour. From the outrageous costumes to the tongue slide, Cyrus definitely made a wild statement that she definitely knows who she is right now and how she wants to be perceived.
But the big unveiling of her new persona was at the 2013 Video Music Awards and her shocking "Blurred Lines" performance with a foam finger and Robin Thicke, which had the world talking for a few weeks.
"Maybe they succeed because they don't have anything to prove," Cyrus said about the musicians she admires in an interview with W magazine in 2014. "They're just doing it because they love it. I hope I'm like Dolly [Parton] -- where I'm just still going at 75."
Cyrus has also been making some artistic leaps. She has recently been covering and collaborating with the Flaming Lips.
The footage for the Bangerz DVD was filmed in Lisbon and Barcelona. It will also feature behind-the-scenes footage of Cyrus's tour, but it might not be as crazy as some of the photos she posts on her Instagram.
"If you walk backstage right before the show, it is a pretty crazy scene," Stacy Jones, touring drummer and music director of the Bangerz tour, told Billboard. "Prior to that, it's Miley hanging out in her room listening to Bob Dylan and the band guys sitting around eating catering and drinking coffee. It's very tame. It's not what everybody pictures. There was an after-party after the London show last night and I don't even think Miley showed up. We were all there but I think she went back to her hotel. People's perception of her daily life is very different from reality."
