Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea fans, rejoice: the Las Vegas superstar and the "Trouble" rapper's collaboration, rumored to be titled "Pretty Girls," finally has a release date. And Spears' first single since her 2013 album Britney Jean is set to hit just in time to be a contender for song of the summer.

The long-teased and highly anticipated Spears/Azalea collaboration will be released on May 5, according to People. The release date arrived with little fanfare, tagged at the end of an article detailing Spears' upcoming People cover story about her life at home with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

The release date and the fact that Spears and Azalea will be releasing a song together are the only details confirmed about the release now, but there are plenty of rumors surrounding Spears' upcoming single.

According to a fan-obtained register, the new song is titled "Pretty Girls" and was originally written by British girl group Little Mix. Despite penning the song, Little Mix are not necessarily slated to appear on "Pretty Girls," with Azalea previously denying working with the X Factor alumnae.

It has also been confirmed that "Pretty Girls" will not necessarily lead to an album for Spears, who told Billboard that writing and releasing a full studio album is "not a priority" for her. Instead, Spears and her camp are continuing to focus on her Las Vegas residency and dropping individual singles over the next few years, playing into that market.

Releasing one-off singles isn't a new platform for Spears. In the past, she's seen successes with tracks like "3," "Do Somethin'" and "Someday (I Will Understand)," which weren't necessarily attached to any particular album.
