Can you have too many Outkast reunion announcements in one day? We at Music Times are one's to say no. But then again, the second reunion for one of hip-hop's foremost duos made official as of Thursday was its appearance at Governor's Ball in New York City, far closer to our offices. So what are you going to wave in our face now West Coast?

In all seriousness however, Outkast becomes the first group announced for Governor's Ball, which will be taking place on New York's Randall's Island during June 6-8. The announcement was made by emcee Big Boi via his Twitter.

"Heres another 1 !!!" he said in a tweet containing a link revealing the pair's confirmation for Governor's Ball. He followed up with "Stay Tuned ! #Outkast #20," suggesting that more could be in store in the festival realm for the year marking the 20th anniversary of the group's debut album, Southernplayalisticcadillacmuzik. The pair last released an album with 2006's Idlewild, but the rumor mill hasn't gotten worked up enough yet to produce a sincere indication that the pair has new music in mind. Yet.

The Atlanta rappers have been the subject of rumors for months regarding the possibility of them reuniting for Coachella. That rumor was confirmed at midnight on Thursday. The second headlining announcement should have come as much more of a surprise, but it seems fans are so wound up over the first announcement that the second gig didn't boost adrenaline too much. But trust us: East Coasters such as ourselves are excited.

The rest of the Governor's Ball lineup is scheduled to be announced via social media this week.
