Tyrese recently stopped by New York's Power 105 for an interview with the Breakfast Club and he revealed that he passed on a role for Fox's mega hit, Empire.

During the interview, Ty spoke on numerous things including his final solo album and filming Furious 7. He says he missed out on an opportunity to reunite with Taraji P. Henson because of a legal ordeal. The two co-starred in John Singleton's 2001 film Baby Boy.

"Truth be told I was supposed to do season one of Empire," he said. "I can't say what role, but I was in and out of court fighting over my little angel. And I just landed 50/50 joint legal custody and so I had to break the news to Lee [Daniels] and Taraji that I just couldn't make it. I couldn't go to Chicago for three or four weeks at a time while they were shooting when they hit me up."

Tyrese went on to reveal that his forthcoming album, Black Rose, will be his last solo album.

"I felt like a double album with a documentary, an [audio] book, and a movie that I just did starring myself and Jennifer Hudson ... I just feel like I needed to give the fans more than enough content as I gracefully bow out from music. Now I'm still going to sing, but this is my last solo album," he explained.

The "Stay" singer and Hudson shared roles in Black Nativity, which was released last November.

According to BET, Black Rose drops July 7 on his own label, Voltron Recordz.
