This week’s mixtape is full of great tracks for sharing including some bigger names as well as some bands you might not have heard of, but that’s the fun of mixtapes! So sit back and listen to brand new songs from Jack Name, Hurry, Tokyo Police Club and many more. Who will you share this week’s mix with?

Our opening track this week comes from Philadelphia Indie rocker outfit Hurry, with the band’s first 2014 single “Oh Whitney.” There’s something incredibly beautiful about simplicity in music, especially when so many groups come off sounding like they’re trying so hard.

RIYL: Weezer, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Pavement

John Webster Johns is best known for his studio work and as a member of White Fence, but his side project Jack Name has provided us with a great new song for this week’s mix. Listen to “Born to Lose” right here!

RIYL: Black Keys, White Fence

Vanaprasta released a brand new track off of its yet-to-be-titled new 2014 album this week and “NYF” is definitely worth adding to this list this week. Check out the band’s new sound thanks to them discovering “newer digital and analog technology that allowed them to create mechanical sounds while keeping space for the guitars and melodies to call and respond with each other.”

RIYL: Kings of Leon, Beach Boys, Real Estate

We like to keep our mixtapes full of less established bands when we can, so we're going to pack the center of this week's list with some better known bands. Check out new songs from Tokyo Police Club, Liars, Xiu Xiu and We Were Promised Jetpacks right here:

NO's newest song "Leave the Door Wide Open" is an example of how this band has a great chance of taking over in 2014. With a debut album El Prado hitting shelves in February, our mixtape could easily be a great launching-off point for new fans of NO. Do you agree?

RIYL: The National, Interpol

Warm Soda is one of the only bands playing a great mix of power-pop, glam and garage in 2014. The outfit's newest song "When Your Eyes Meet Mine," serves out mixtape quite well this week!

RIYL: Delta Spirit, the Strokes

Our final track is a funky collaboration between Thundercat (Stephen Bruner), Jolly Mare and Rudi Zygadlo. "Vulnerable People" is a coming-together of musicians for a great mix of sound. That kind of sounds like these mixtapes, doesn't it?

RIYL: Flying Lotus, Hot Chip

This mixtape would be perfect for sharing with an old friend that has the same taste in music as you, and is happy to be reminded of new songs from Liars as well as discovering a new act like Hurry. Go and share this right now!
