According to Dawes, "Things Happen." And now the Los Angeles rockers are exploring that idea in a new single. Today (April 6), Dawes announced that it will be following up its 2013 album Stories Don't End with a new LP, All Your Favorite Bands.

All Your Favorite Bands will be released on June 16. Dawes' new album announcement came along with its new single "Things Happen" on NPR. The single follows Dawes' tried and true formula, with a steady mid-tempo backbone accompanying frontman Taylor Goldsmith's lightly throaty vocals and personal lyrics.

Alongside the album announcement and new single, Dawes also released an endearing new music video for "Things Happen." Playing off the message of the song about optimism versus pessimism, the video follows the tale of a Beatles impersonator, wandering down the Los Angeles strip in an attempt to try and make some money for the day. As he finds new spots to perform in, he repeatedly gets kicked out by other street performers, including members of Dawes in different cameos and costumes.

"I think by making the video about street performers, which is a pastime that's at once fascinating and mysterious but also can be perceived as unglamorous or dismal, it really helps to illustrate the shifting sentiments of the song," Goldsmith said in a statement to NPR about his video's concept. "How one guy can seem truly miserable in dealing with his current lot in life while others can take that same situation and figure out a way to find joy and acceptance in it?"
