Dave Grohl has been involved with plenty of bands, but people will always bring it back to Nirvana. Even as Grohl enters his 20th year as the leader of the Foo Fighters, his reputation is still based more on his four-year tenure with Nirvana (fans of the latter band know he wasn't even with the band on its debut, Bleach). And of course, Grohl was involved with other groups before he came to Nirvana. One of those bands was Dain Bramage, and eight of its tracks from 1986 were recently dug up.

Music website Antiquiet didn't indicate where it got the tracks, but it's made all of them available for listening. The set is titled the "Laundry Rooms Demos" in reference to the studio where they were recorded. Dain Bramage existed at the end of Washington D.C.'s hardcore punk craze (following in the footsteps of Minor Threat, Bad Brains and the like), and the style on this set fits the bill. Included is an excellent cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "American Band."

All of the songs are available and able to be found on the internet, so there's nothing "new" here exactly. The band released a couple cassette demos, and released an LP, I Scream Not Coming Down, which is valued among vinyl collectors. One track not included in the demos but is worth searching out is "Baltimore Sucks (But Booje Needs the Bucks" from one of the group's demo tapes.

Grohl eventually left the group for Scream, the band he played with prior to Nirvana, and Dain Bramage never recovered. Grohl and his former bandmates are still on good terms however. He posted a photo of the trio together to Twitter during September.
