Let's be honest, it's a little weird that Young Thug is naming his new album, Carter 6, while his supposed "idol" Lil Wayne waits in label limbo for his Carter V to be released. Although it is seemingly out of respect for the elder rapper, the timing seems a little disrespectful. Wayne has been quiet about the situation since Thug first announced his decision to do a Carter 6 through 10 and carry on Wayne's legacy, but now he's made his feelings clear: he thinks it's disrespectful.

"Before I go any further, I want y'all to do me a favor and stop listening to songs of n***as that pose naked on they mother**king album cover," Wayne told a Mississippi crowd last night. "Y'all let him know I said, 'F**k him.'"

Tunechi was referencing Thug's new Carter 6 album cover, which features Thugger naked, covered by text.

Thug has since responded to the diss in a post on Instagram.

"I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated with his career, and I feel him on that. But this is my idol," he said in the handheld video clip. "I will never swap words with him or beef with him about nothing. Ha ha."

On the Breakfast Club yesterday morning, former Hot Boys member Turk dished on his feelings about Thug's new album name.

"I think it's slick. I think Young Thug wants to be Wayne," he said Thug's decision. "Whether directly or indirectly, he done said it and it be contradicting statements when he talk, but I believe he looks up to Wayne. I think the media is making it like that [disrespectful] and he's running with it because he loves the attention."

What do you guys think? Is it disrespectful to cop a title from your idol while he is still in the game? Should Thug have asked permission first? Sound off in the comments section below!
