In the latest issue of Interview Magazine, Kanye West has a conversation with director Steve McQueen, whose film 12 Years a Slave is nominated for Best Picture at the 2014 Academy Awards and whom West considers one of his biggest inspirations. McQueen also created the visuals for West's "Blood on the Leaves."

The Q&A touches on a variety of topics, including how his car accident affected his life view, how his parents influenced him, what it's like being a father, how he has a glass ceiling as a black artist, how he feels about his Grammys snub, how he defines success, how he deals with haters, how he approaches visuals, what the future holds for him and more.

The interview is one of the better one's West has given in recent memory. His ideas are clear for the most part, and it really gives him a chance to explain himself and his thought process without pretense.
