Nelly has been arrested in Tennessee on charges of drug possession after an incident this weekend. The emcee's bus was pulled over for not having required stickers and police came aboard when they smelled marijuana. A few other charges have been filed, although some pertain to the rest of the crew riding the bus and not the rapper himself.

The emcee's lawyer released a statement on Saturday.

"Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee," it read. "In fact, there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search. We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered."

One thing not addressed buy that statement: The five rocks that police found that tested positive for crystal meth. As the statement suggests, there's no reason to believe that the more potent drugs onboard belongs to the rapper, but it doesn't reflect too well upon him for it to be found on his tour bus.

Billboard reports that a number of handguns were also recovered during the search, however there was no indication as to how many were legally or illegally owned. At least one was tied to another allegation, that Nelly's crew member Brian Jones was a felon in possession of a handgun.

Nelly was taken to the Putnam County sheriff's department and there's no word on whether he's been freed from incarceration as of yet.

Nelly's tour bus fell into similar straights during 2012 when it was stopped by the Texas border patrol, and was found to have a small amount of heroin and a large amount of marijuana onboard. If you were wondering where Jones got his previous felony: He took the fall for that incident.
