If you can believe it, the Black Eyed Peas have been getting phunky for 20 years. Ever since their formation in 1995, the group were one of the most influential pop acts of the 2000s, with singles like "Let's Get It Started," "My Humps," "Boom Boom Pow" and their collaboration with David Guetta "I Gotta Feeling" that was a catalyst for the EDM explosion in the United States today. Since their 2010 album The Beginning, which spawned singles like "The Time (Dirty Bit)" and "Just Can't Get Enough," the group has gone their separate ways and taken a break. However sings pointed a reunion for their 20-year anniversary, and last night at Coachella during David Guetta's set, the group came out to perform their new collaboration together titled "Awesome."

From what we can hear, the single is geared towards the radio with plenty of bleeps and bloops and a simple and catchy melody to start things off. The hook is a bit elementary, as will.i.am says over and over "This is awesome!" Fergie did not appear on stage to perform "Awesome," though she did appear later on in the set. Guetta spoke to AskMen about the collaboration the reunion and how it came about during his set at Coachella.

"I've been working lately with Will on a new Black Eyed Peas record," explains the French DJ.

"We were supposed to do it and he asked if we should do the record for the first time at Coachella. I said, 'Cool, let's do it!' Then someone else spoke to my management for Fergie, but that was not even related, she just wanted to say hi. I was like, 'That's amazing, and come on, we are all here!' So I think it's actually going to happen."

In January, will.i.am gave a few details about what fans should be able to expect from the reunion, including some "experiences," which it appears Coachella was one of them.

"We're going to have new music. We'll have a bunch of new experiences. I don't want to call them albums, but we'll have some experiences and a bunch of stuff to get the Pea Bodies and the folks that supported us and got us to this point."
