Hear Lorde's sister India Yelich-O’Connor cover 'Say Something'

Lorde (also known as Ella Yelich-O'Connor) has two sisters, and the youngest has just put out a cover song. Nothing official like an album release. Consequence of Sound has reported India Yelich-O'Connor posted her version of Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World's "Say Something" on Soundcloud.

Though the sound quality isn't on a recording-studio level, listeners can see past that and it's received positive fan comments so far. Myah Bailey-Hanley writes: "Guess this talent runs in the family, wow !!!!" The stripped-down song has already received over 6,000 listens and counting, now that major websites are picking it up.

Not much is known of the singer so far, but she does have a very personal blog, Genres of India. This appears to be linked to her twitter account @IndyYelich, but is currently unconfirmed. In that twitter bio she describes herself as a "15 y/o with a fresh sense of how i see the world." However, publications are reporting that India is 14 years old, so it is unclear which details are correct at this point.

One thing is for sure, we will begin to learn a lot more about India now, musically, other than facts like she is Lorde's blonde younger sister.

What do you think of the song? Curious to hear something original by the younger singer? Listen here:
