Country music superstar Carrie Underwood has won awards from the Academy of Country Music, American Country Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, the Country Music Association, CMT, The Doves, the Grammy Awards ... the list goes on and on. One of her songs was even nominated for a Golden Globe in 2011. Last year, she honed her acting skills and played the starring role of Maria von Trapp in NBC's "Sound of Music Live!" The role, made famous by Julie Andrews, seemed to be custom made for the singer and her performance helped garner nearly 19 million views to the live broadcast, followed by several million more for the replays.

The production did so well that NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt has announced that on December 4, 2014, NBC will do it again with "Peter Pan Live!" While no cast has been named, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan will return as Executive Producers.

The original 1954 Broadway production of "Peter Pan" starred Mary Martin as Peter and Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook. They both earned Tony Awards for their roles. The Broadway production was followed by NBC telecasts of it in 1955, 1956, and again in 1960 with the same stars. A small, "theater in the round" production found former Olympic gymnast Cathy Rigby in the role, marking her acting debut. Rigby went on to star as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and play parts in Annie Get Your Gun and Meet Me In St. Louis before returning in the 90s for four Broadway revival runs. Another popular Broadway revival run in 1979 starred Sandy Duncan as Peter. The role got her a Tony Award nod for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical but she was beat by Patti LuPone for her role in Evita as Eva Perón.
