A CRB Career Achievement Award For Vince Gill

Vince Gill During his 35 year career, Vince Gill has won 4 Academy of Country Music awards, 12 CMAs and 20 Grammys. He's been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 2014 will be remembered as the year that he added another honor to his roster ... a CRB Career Achievement Award.

On Tuesday, February 18th, Gill will be honored at the Country Radio Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The CRB Career Achievement Award is presented to "an individual artist or act that, through their creativity, vision, performance or leadership has made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of country music and country radio." It has been given each year since 1998. Previous winners of the prestigious award are:

  • 2009 - Merle Haggard
  • 2008 - Charlie Daniels
  • 2007 - Kenny Rogers
  • 2006 - Ronnie Milsap
  • 2005 - Dolly Parton
  • 2004 - Alabama
  • 2003 - Reba McEntire
  • 2002 - Sonny James
  • 2001 - Buck Owens
  • 2000 - Loretta Lynn
  • 1999 - Eddie Arnold
  • 1998 - Chet Atkins

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell will present the award after performing a tribute to Vince.

In a press release, Bill Mayne, Executive Director of CRS, talked about the entertainer, saying, "Vince Gill is unquestionably one of the greatest artists in the country genre. His body of amazing work continues to evolve, and his performances inspire us all. He is a remarkable ambassador for Country music with his talents, grace, class, leadership, humility, humanity, style and wicked sense of humor. We are very proud to present Vince with this richly deserved honor."

The 2014 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductees are Larry Wilson and Mike Brophey as the Radio category inductees and Paul Schadt and Jim Denny as the On-Air category inductees.
