Jack White promised $3 concerts in the five states that he's ever visited before taking a long live hiatus, and the recent Coachella headliner is already delivering. Last night (April 20), the "That Black Bat Licorice" rocker flew to Alaska for an all-acoustic performance.

With a little help from Jack Johnson, White performed at the University of Alaska's 910-capacity Wendy Willams Auditorium - a long way from his set at the sold out Coachella or his recent show at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

The show made a huge splash in Anchorage. KTVA reported that fans waited hours in line fighting the rain and called off work sick for the chance to see White, who announced the show earlier that day on his official website.

Dubbed as the "cheapest, best concert I'll ever see in Alaska for sure" by one fan, White performed an acoustic set filled with his hits backed by just three musicians (Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davi) on a standup bass, slide guitar and banjo/fiddle.

Johnson joined White for a performance of his The White Stripes hit "We're Gonna Be Friends."

The Alaska tour date was just one stop of five on White's acoustic solo tour. The TIDAL co-owner promised to perform one surprise show in each of the five states he has yet to visit. He's still set to perform in North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Idaho.
