Two familiar faces will be returning to TV screens soon... small screen alumnae Kelly Rowland and Brandy have both signed on to star in new shows for BET later this year.
Yesterday (April 21), the network announced five upcoming shows, including the vehicles for Rowland and Brandy.
A former judge on The X Factor in both the U.S. and the U.K., Rowland will be bringing that talent with her past as a girl group member to the show Chasing Destiny. According to BET's website, the show will find "the next blazing hot singing sensation" and grab Rowland's attention. The contestants on the reality competition show will have to meet Rowland's "standards for excellence."
As for Brandy, she'll be coming back to scripted television, reviving her days as the star of Moesha with the scripted sitcom Zoe Moon. On the show, Brandy will play the title character, a "newly divorced single mom embarking on her new life and career as a fledgling cosmetics mogul" all while dealing with her ex-husband and 10-year-old son.
The new TV shows have yet to announce premiere dates.
