Casting Crowns has two new projects headed to retail: THRIVE the album will drop on January 28 with THRIVE the book hitting shelves on February 11. For the remainder of January, they are helping fans to thrive by granting wishes through their facebook.

Fans are being asked, "If you could ask Casting Crowns for anything, what would it be?" As people post each day, the band picks one lucky winner and fulfills their wish, giving back and helping others to thrive where they are at.

Some of the blessed winners have been:

  • Betty - After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Betty wanted to be able to go to one more Casting Crowns concert to worship with the band as they lead those in the audience to the Throne room. She and her husband will be going to their show in New York City.
  • Carrie - Her husband is a vet who suffers PTSD. Courageous touched them both in a deep way so the band is sending the DVD and soundtrack.
  • Christy - Her youth group adores Casting Crowns. They'll be having a pizza party with the band and then movie time as they all watch Courageous together.
  • Elizabeth - She will be receiving a copy of the new album because she shared that she's a "broke college student" who can't afford extras like music.
  • Heather - Her husband suffers from dyslexia (as does Mark Hall) and it has greatly impacted his self esteem and walk with the Lord. She asked for Mark to sit down with her hubby to share his testimony and encourage him. They'll be connecting soon.
  • Jason - He is battling cancer and the music of Casting Crowns keeps his spirit lifted as his body fights. He asked for a phone call so he could personally thank the band for all that they do. Wish granted!
  • Krista - She is a new believer who suffers from depression. She asked for a study Bible and a note from the band that will encourage her every time she reads it. The Bible and note are on their way and she got a big welcome to the family of Christ.
  • Mandi - Her husband is a big fan but his job keeps him away from being able to attend many concerts. He is in the U.S. military, currently serving our country in Afghanistan. He's going to be suprised with a Skype phone call from the band.
  • Misty - She got a pair of autographed drumsticks for her husband who is a disabled vet who plays drums in the worship band at their church.
  • Sue - Her friend's husband recently passed away, leaving behind six kids. She asked for CDs for each of the children so they can be comforted and reminded to turn to Jesus during this hard time.
  • Tina - Her 10-year-old son is a huge Casting Crowns fan who has fought his way through two open heart surgeries. Tina asked for them to autograph one of their CDs (he loves them all) and send it to the little boy. The band is sending their entire discography with each one signed by every member.

While each of the winners has been excited to have a wish fulfilled, there is something much bigger going on with the Month of Giving. The family of God is commenting on each request, sending prayers, encouragement and love to their brothers and sisters in Christ. Casting Crowns is bringing people together to lift each other up and help each other thrive.
