Paul McCartney fans who don't want to shell out to attend one of his festival appearances this summer might be in luck, as a new date in Philadelphia may imply that McCartney is planning another leg of solo tour dates during 2015. The former Beatle confirmed Friday that he would be playing the Wells Fargo Center on June 21st, his first appearance in the city since 2010 (from Rolling Stone).

McCartney has always been a road warrior but thus far there hadn't been any indication that he would bring his solo act to the United States during 2015, outside of a few select festival headlining dates (and a one-off surprise show at Irving Plaza during February). He had previously been announced as a headliner at the Firefly Music Festival and Lollapalooza, and the announcement of the third date leads us to believe that he'll stick around. The Philadelphia concert will take place two days after his appearance at Firefly (which is located in Delaware, down the coast). That leaves more than a month until Lollapalooza in Chicago however (although he does have a date at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark on July 4), and we've got to wonder what he'll be doing in the meantime. He could go home to England...or he could chart a few more arena dates around the country.

McCartney is currently touring South Korea and Japan, and he'll be playing dates in the UK and the rest of Europe leading up to his appearance at Firefly.

Most of the attention focused on McCartney this year hasn't had a thing to do with his live repertoire, which is unusual for the performer. Many of the headlines have dealt with his teaming with Kanye West for the singles "FourFiveSeconds," "All Day" and "Only One." Kudos for those, but we're ready to see McCartney solo as well.
