Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta were no doubt thrilled to tune in to the first part of the reunion last night. Aside from the typical backbiting, infighting and usual drama, this past season also gave us a look at the unraveling of Phaedra Parks' marriage to Apollo Nida. After pleading guilty to a variety of financial crimes, Nida was sentenced to eight years in a Kentucky prison, a term that he began serving last September. In the meantime, we have watched as Parks has attempted to figure out her new life as a single mother while coming to terms with the demise of her marriage. Last night fans learned some interesting things about the situation.

Perhaps most shocking is the fact that Parks has yet to actually file for divorce. When Andy Cohen asked her how the divorce was going, Parks responded that she is still married and is in no rush to change things at this point. It seems that once Nida and his volatile behavior was forcefully removed from her life, Parks then realized that she could and likely should, take her time in deciding what really comes next. She was quick to point out that eventually her two young sons will be able to Google everything and she wants to be sure that they end up respecting how she carried herself through this.

During the reunion Cohen also mentioned one frightening encounter in particular with Nida and how she must have been glad that she had a film crew there to protect her. Parks admitted that she was relieved and very purposefully decided not to answer any questions about whether or not Nida was physically abusive during their marriage. Refusal to speak about it obviously leads many to assume that since she wasn't quick to deny any violence, something must have happened between them.

How do you think that Parks has handled all of the personal drama that has played out in public over the last several months? Do you think that she will ultimately end up divorced from Nida? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
