Ever since George Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, protests and rallies have been popping up across the United States. The controversial trial verdict has sparked angry protests and rallies, which have included celebrities. Rapper Jay Z and Beyonce reportedly attended a Justice for Trayvon Martin rally this past Saturday, July 20 in New York along with Al Sharpton. There were reportedly over 100 vigils held for Trayvon Martin across the country this past Saturday.

Protesters rallied against the controversial Stand Your Ground law. "Jay Z told me, 'I'm a father. Beyonce is a mother,' Sharpton said to the crowd according to the Huffington Post. "We all feel the pain and apprehension -- the laws must protect everybody, or it doesn't protect anybody. We do not come from hate, we come from love of children."

Huffington Post reports that Sharpton said Jay Z and Beyonce weren't at the event for a photo op, but were there to support Trayvon Martin. "Jay Z and Beyonce said they didn't want to speak and they didn't come for a photo op," Sharpton said to the crowd. "Beyonce put a beautiful message up on Instagram. Let me tell you, that before a lot of you were down, Jay Z always supported us."

According to Huffington Post, Beyonce asked for a moment of silence at her concert the night George Zimmerman was found not-guilty. Meanwhile, during Jay Z and Justin Timberlake's Legends of Summer tour launch in Toronto last week they dedicated the song "Young Forever" to Martin.
